‘Mmm,’ Nerissa sighed.

‘One day, the sea fairy, who was called Celestine, was making some sweets when it got all dark and a storm blew up,’ Electra went on. ‘The trees started creaking and the rain came pouring down, lightning flashed and thunder rumbled.’ She wrapped her arms around her legs, pictures flashing through her head. ‘It was very scary and then suddenly Celestine heard the sound of feet coming up her path. Crunch, crunch, crunch, they went.’

Sasha gave a little gasp. ‘Who was it?’

Electra was too caught up in the story to answer. ‘Nearer and nearer those footsteps came and then all of a sudden they stopped.’

Sasha grabbed Nerissa’s arm.

‘Celestine went to the window, Electra said. ‘She looked out and she saw…’
